Standing in Stillness is one of the first stones I erected. I engraved the markings in recent years. Originally deposited when New Mexico was covered by inland seas, this waterworn siltstone stands beneath a huge weeping willow tree with a diameter of over 5ft. at the base of the trunk. The willow has tremendous height and width. The engraved siltstone stands beneath enormous, spreading branches so that its appearance changes with shifting shadows and dappled sunlight of each day.
