A Sacred Gathering encircles five large, micaceous rose and white quartz boulders, some almost completely veiled in colonies of lichen. The paths leading in, as well as the surrounding perimeter, are cobbles of fine, sedimentary silt formed into siltstone. Their surfaces are covered with water marks and patterns from when this region was an inland sea. The smooth, waterworn, granite river stones encircling the boulders have varied, banded markings. All the stones were set by hand and placed aesthetically to create the appearance of a human gathering place to honor the Earth and nature, inspired by prehistoric human sites that appear to celebrate the Earth, nature, and creation's beauty.
